H1.3: Create a new C++ package (DLL/.so)
F4 C++ services are packaged together into DLLs. These instructions will help you create a new package named "MyPackage". Obviously you should substitute a more meaningful name.
- Create a directory named MyPackage in
F4/Services
- Create a new MSVC++ project by copying
F4/Services/template.dsp into the new directory and renaming it to "MyPackage.dsp". Open it in a text editor and replace all occurrances of "{Service}" with "MyPackage". Save and close the file.
- Open the F4 workspace in MSVC++ and choose "Project | Insert Project Into Workspace". Add
MyPackage.dsp, as a dependency of "Shell".
- Create a GNU make script by copying the *.mk file from one of the other services directories (like Collider) and renaming it "mypackage.mk". Fill in the details for your project. Open
F4/Build/Makefile and add a new line to USER_TARGETS for Services/MyPackage/mypackage.mk.
